Program Summary: 

This presentation will inform attendees of the typical procedures to expect when being investigated or audited, as well as provide information on how to best avoid, prepare for or defend various audits and investigations initiated by governmental agencies, unions and other third-parties, which typically stem from a complaint made by a disgruntled current employee or former employee or third-party.

Learning Objectives:

1. Familiarize yourself with the various audits and investigations that your company could be subject to at a local, state, and/or federal level;
2. Learn steps to avoid potential exposure to an audit or investigation;
3. Learn how to properly prepare your company for an audit or investigation, including what to document and key documents to preserve; and
4. Learn how to respond to and/or defend an audit or investigation

About the Speaker: 

Martin Kappenman represents employers in connection with employment and labor law issues. He works with employers to avoid litigation by providing counsel regarding OSHA compliance, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Minnesota Human Rights Act, drug testing, and other employment matters.
