Employment Law Update for 2011

Presenter: Michelle Donarski

Keep your business on top of the ever changing employment laws.  Learn what to watch out for as well as the best practices to use when addressing employment issues.  This seminar designed to provide businesses with the practical tools to understand, identify and properly address employment issues and will cover new employment law issues that arose in 2010 and will look ahead to 2011. Recent changes to the ADA, FMLA, and FLSA will be discussed, along with other very important labor related issues. This seminar will include a question and answer component giving businesses the opportunity to ask legal employment questions, receive answers from the legal expert and learn the best practices in addressing employment law.

 
Biography

Michelle M. Donarski is a Partner with the Anderson, Bottrell, Sanden & Thompson law firm in

Fargo . Her practice includes business transactions, contracts, civil trial litigation, agricultural law, and an emphasis in employment law.  Ms. Donarski has represented a number of companies, large and small, locally and nationally, in assisting and defending employers in federal EEOC, state Department of Labor, and state and federal court lawsuits.

Ms. Donarski has investigated employee discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims for companies and has conducted a variety of in-house seminars on employment matters, including the hiring, managing, disciplining, and firing of employees.   She has assisted several companies with their employee manuals and policies, wage and hour issues, leave issues, disability issues, discrimination and harassment issues, retaliation, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, trade secret violations, and employment contracts.  Ms. Donarski has also assisted companies during the difficult times of reductions in force, employee performance issues, and various other day-to-day employment issues. 

  

Ms. Donarski is a frequent writer and lecturer on employment law topics.  She is an alternate municipal judge for

West Fargo, North Dakota and was listed as a leading employment lawyer in Chambers USA America’s Leading Business Lawyers.  She is licensed to practice law in North Dakota and Minnesota state and federal courts. Ms. Donarski may be contacted at 701-235-3300.
