Presenter: Shannon Uecker, Noridian Administrative Services
Businesses are no longer confined to the standard brick and mortar as in the past. The ever changing and fast paced working environment has expanded beyond the traditional four walls. Telecommuting offers benefits to both the employers and employees by offering a flexible work arrangement. It has been described as “moving the work to the workers, instead of the workers to the work"; developing management and staff to fit the telecommuting roles is key to making it a success.
Key points during the presentation:
Shannon Uecker is the Human Resources Business Partner at Noridian Administrative Services (NAS) and has held that role for the last three years. Shannon has led the telecommuting program at NAS and has been the project manager for the telecommuting pilot program at BCBSND. Shannon received his PHR in May 2009; in March 2011, he presented NAS telecommuting program to the Telework Summit in Fergus Falls, MN. In a previous position, Shannon was a telecommuter and managed twelve telecommuters full-time in the insurance industry. Shannon and his wife (Kristen) have lived in Fargo for 24 years and have three wonderful daughters (Madison age 8, and twins Kennedy and Taylor ages 3).
