Program Summary
A discussion of best practices and recent legal development in the ever-changing world of workplace investigations. This presentation will identify key practices, strategies for gathering facts, interviewing parties and witnesses, and preparing reports. An overview of common mistakes will also be discussed. The program will conclude with a comparison of different considerations for employers in North Dakota vs. Minnesota.
Learning Objectives:
1. Acquire knowledge of what things to consider before engaging in an employee investigation and laws that can help guide you to choosing to investigate.
2. Learn how to identify and articulate your goals before engaging in an investigation.
3. Obtain necessary skills and pointers in conducting effective workplace investigations.
4. Understand the most common mistakes employers make in conducting investigations and how to not make the same mistakes in your own investigations.
Speaker Biographies
Cynthia Bremer is the managing shareholder of the Minneapolis office of Ogletree Deakins. Cynthia has extensive experience in employment law and complex litigation matters. In addition to practicing in Minnesota, Cynthia has also practiced law in North Dakota and continues to practice law there today.
